Science and Technology Commercialization (MSSTC) degree program of The IC2 Institute
of The University of Texas at Austin has selected the book Product Idea to
Product Success for the course STC 395 The Art and Science of Market-Driven
Entrepreneurship. STC 395 is about recognizing business opportunities, assessing
new venture ideas, building business models, validating the market, analyzing
the competition, gauging the economic feasibility, developing product launch strategies
and tactics, and writing business plans to obtain resources. The focus of this 12-month master's degree program is on the rapid transfer of research, knowledge, and technology from ideas to the marketplace - the entrepreneurial wealth creation process. MSSTC students are organized into teams to assess the commercial potential of technologies, develop strategies to commercialize technologies, and to build business models and plans to launch new ventures. Through the MSSTC program, students gain the knowledge and skills to cope with the formidable economic, social, financial, and political changes associated with creating economic value from knowledge.
